It’s with great excitement that we announce the 2015 Spring Major League Hacking Season. The Spring 2015 Season is shaping up to be bigger than ever. Last season we had 36 sanctioned events, since announcing sanctioning for Spring last month, we’ve had over 70 events apply.

Today, we’re announcing the first batch of events, many more will be coming soon.

Dragon Hacks

Philadelphia, PA – January 10th, 2015

Dragon Hacks is a hardware focused hackathon at Drexel. They’re planning all sorts of cool stuff for hackers who come.

MHacks

Ann Arbor, MI – January 16th, 2015

MHacks V is coming back with a vengance, bringing with it everything we’ve come to expect from the event.

PennApps

Philadelphia, PA – January 16th, 2015

The granddaddy of university hackathons is back in its eleventh iteration. Make sure you check out the ENIAC while you’re there!

Fashion / Tech Hackathon

Kent, OH – January 30th, 2015

Taking advantage of Kent State’s Fashion Program, this hackathon mixes apparel & fashion to create a unique event for all sorts of folks not typically involved with hackathons.

MedStart

Boston, MA – January 30th, 2015

Tufts MedStart takes advantage of the Boston Area’s wealth of medical education and technology providers, researchers, and students to put on an event to foster increased collaboration and better technology for all.

SBHacks

Santa Barbara, CA – January 30th, 2015

SBHacks will be the major collegiate hackathon in Santa Barbara. They say it will be the first hackathon taking place just minutes away from the beach.

UofTHacks

Toronto, ON – January 30th, 2015

UofTHacks is ON! The University of Toronto is putting on event they claim to be the most unapologetically Canadian event ever. Maple trees watch out!

Hack.Rice

Houston, TX – January 31st, 2015

This will be Hack.Rice’s 4th event. Hack.Rice is holding an optional evening of tutorials prior to their event, which are sure to be awesome!

CBBHacks

Brunswick, ME – February 6th, 2015

Colby-Bates-Bowdoin is the main rivalry in Maine, all three schools are getting together for an event that bills itself as the first hackathon for liberal arts schools.

VTHacks

Blacksburg, VA – February 6th, 2015

Virginia Tech is putting on their second event. They’re doing everything to ensure every hacker has an amazing experience.

Hackpoly

Pomona, CA – February 20th, 2015

Pomona is host to the US’ largest county faire and Cal Poly Pomona’s awesome hackathon.

TreeHacks

Stanford, CA – February 20th, 2015

Stanford’s first major hackathon is coming to town. As you’d expect, it will be awesome– anything else would be treeson.

McHacks

Montreal, QC – February 21st, 2015

McHacks is McBack for its second round. Last year they had a unicorn and about a million midnight samosas this year you can expect more!

HackDFW

Dallas, TX – February 28th, 2015

HackDFW is the Dallas-Ft. Worth area’s first major student hackathon. What’s better? It’s organized by students from schools all over the Dallas area.

HackTCNJ

Ewing, NJ – February 28th, 2015

HackTCNJ is a smaller 24hr event, out of Ewing, NJ. It’s in its second iteration and going strong!

What You Can Expect from The Spring Season

This season, we’re giving our all to make sure every MLH event is beyond awesome. Every Major League Hacking event will have our Hardware Lab, full of gadgets including the Oculus Rift, Leap Motion, Thalmic Myos, Pebbles, Arduinos, SparkCores and more. Additionally, we’ll make sure that you have fun things to do when you need a break from hacking. And, of course, every time you participate in an MLH event, you’ll be contributing to your school’s chance of winning the Hacker Cup!
